It would be the shareholders whom decide whether a bid would succeed rather than management. The board can merely make a recommendation to the holders. MYG board doesn't hold a large % of the register from what I've seen, so could indeed be interesting in the next few months.
RRL looks to be in an acquisitive mood ATM with its shares in the stratosphere. A party like that could fund the build more easily also.
In any case getting noticed by the market and other players is a good start.
