Many years back I was out in some pretty arid desert country way east of Wiluna & just south of the Gun-Barrel Highway to Alice via Warburton when rain started bucketting down just on dusk. Slipping & sliding in 4WD heading back to camp, I was amazed to see in my headlights all these frogs jumping around in puddles....
Where were they, how did they exist before the rain?
Also, fish, up in rock pools in the Pilbara.Used to be pitiful to see them drying up in summer, the fish huddled up together in the remaining water and eventually dying....Then, immediately after the next rains, the pools are full, & the fish are back....
Nature is awesome....
