    Sector you should note that by moving to floating LNG they are shifting upstream processing from previoulsy planned more expensive land-based processing facilities to floating. This shift has signficant negative economic implications to a state that would have been had if it were land-based. The reason they are moving to floating is mainly cost benefits. The whole barge can be built in Korea or China and towed to location.

    This means much less construction, manufacturing & engineering jobs for Australians. Why else would the WA state govt was so against floating..the negative implications for the state is a combination of less economic benefit as well as royalty issues associated with floating LNG.

    You also have the issues re remote operations..this will compound the negative impacts as the projects move from contruction to production. The technology and innovation is absolutely fantastic, but it has unfavorable implications for the local economy.

    It aint no joke..
