The market cap and hence SP will change naturally due to market forces of supply and demand of shares. The SP changes even today and yesterday without any consolidation.
Consolidation is not why SP changes happen, market forces change SP and management of the company and sometimes just plain luck.
I was in ELD when they did a consolidation. It is my best performing stock of the last few years, it performs well not because they did a consolidation or in spite of it..... Consolidation has nothing to do with how well a company will be run in the future or and it wont decide how much oil they may or may not find.
If you think consolidation will make SP go down then I cannot help you.
