again, agreed on volatility, but most of the recent momentum in crypto is not currency but apps - real world business cases, which are being used. I'm confused why you say Blockchain is here to stay yet dismiss crypto in general... because that's what these apps are... unless you are referring to private blockchains instead of public... but it is the public part which presents the most use cases.

Here a larger list of crypto-apps, but far from complete... you will see, just like at the start of the world wide web, we are seeing strong competition for key use cases (shoping, ads, social networks, video streaming, supplychain, sharing economy etc.):

Again, the key business case is that these are entirely publicly owned systems - there is no one in the middle taking a cut (no amazon, no ebay, no netflix, no facebook). The moment you start using one or more of these systems, you are a part owner.

All the above are examples of blockchain and they're being used by an every increasing user base... and price volatility or not, they're here to stay.

For anyone thinking of investing, most of the crypto-apps with high momentum are available in Australian dollars through www.coinspot.com.au but then there are many overseas exchanges that offer access to other up-and-coming crypto-apps as well. (Bitfinex, Bittrex, Tidex to name a few, but far from a complete list).

I dismissed this for a long time thinking it was all just currency like bitcoin before giving it a closer look and discovering the rise of crypto-apps.

As before... this is a heads up only... not investment advice. I'm not a financial advisor, DYOR, etc.
