uranium conference in darwin 16th march

JUst listened to an ABC interview, Minister Ian McFarlane in Perth today gathering information for Darwin conference on WA holdings/resources in URANIUM. They mentioned several known deposits in WA but he was asked the BIG QUESTION.

WHY BOTHER WITH WA AND LABOR STATES WHO ARE AGAINST ALL URANIUM MINING, especially WA where ex premier GALLOP was dead set against, and new premier Alan Carpenter stating this week emphatically NO URANIUM MINING WILL BE ALLOWED IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

McFarlane simply said he needed to know what resources were available for the conference. McFarlane was also asked the question about the FEDS in the NT and he reiterated that mining would happen and very shortly, gave a good indication that several companies were involved and a recent press announcement showed Compass and ARAFURA RESOURCES high on the list for new URANIUM mines.

RESULT, the LABOR controlled states will pussyfoot around for years, while the NT will be the place to have your tenements. Watch for details on tomorrows conference.
