If you look at Quantum's product model, offering 5x and 10x leverage, it's not difficult to understand how it could quickly get into liquidity problems if there is not adequate hedging in place, in a rapidly rising market, and customers seek to cash in on their gains.
Compound this (pardon the pun) into last week's cease and desist order from the authorities and the panic could really start amping up the liquidity pressure.
When you look at the banking issues and delays reported by BEZ this is starting to make sense. Where it goes from here will be a fascinating, if potentially painful, watch.
