Remember not too long ago, when Shell wanted us to sell Woodside for $14 or was it $17 a share? Whats it now? $50? $60? These people dont want our assets because they are kind and doing us a favour. Its usually because they thinks its worth much more than they want to pay for it, or they wouldnt be trying to persuade us to sell it. Nothing against BG. Happy to reliably supply BG etc. the eggs for a fair price. Not the goose that lays them.
They want in because the CSIRO has said on the basis of their work there is more gas in the form of CSG, just in SEQ, not even counting Central Q and NQ, than in the whole Persian Gulf. (250 trillion m3?) They are pouring in to Libya now to get at 2 trillion, plus some oil.
ORG also has the rights to world leading solar technology that is revolutionary, developed at the ANU by Australian scientists for Australia, that we would then have to buy back from the dear old Poms who would have got it virtually for nothing. If they felt like letting us use our invention. Could be worth more than the gas, actually. Check it out -sliver technology. Was featured on the ABC recently in a full half hour show.
