Wouldn't a (partly) contrary argument be in some lines, BGA has market power and hence may be able to minimise or avoid the dreaded 'promotional' and/or 'shelf placement' fees that WOW, COL and so on charge suppliers?

I'm especially thinking of peanut butter - BGA has about an 83 per cent market share.

Try BGA Simply Nuts peanut butter - I love the Cruncy variety while friends overseas in Asia love the Smooth one.

Available at many IGAs plus WOW and COL:.

But yes, I agree in ranged areas such as chilled dairy products, BGA plays second fiddle or lower to companies like USA-owned Chobani, so (at least in Melbourne where I mainly shop) at supermarkets like WOW, Dairy Farmers/Farmers Union and Yoplait yoghurt (the three BGA brands) may not be found at eye level. It seems to vary a lot, even within the same chain. So at a guess, if BGA wants to increase sales of its 150 gram DF small yoghurt individual tubs, it has to bear some (or all?) of the cost of reducing the shelf price from what is now normally $2.60 (quite expensive) at WOW/COL to $1.30 or $1.50 a container.
