Been doing some research on haul roads and trucks to try and get some idea of potential costs moving forward if in fact we move into production. All costs are Mali based comparisons.
Haul Road:
The following has been taken from a Baboto Scoping report in 2011 which used figures from Randgolds Gounkoto Haul road construction. The road was 12.5 km in length and relative flat land so I have doubled the estimate figures to reflect a 25km long road.
Bush Clearing - $208,368 Excavate Top Soil - $495,676 Excavate from borrow pit to road - $2,188,990
Total for 25km Haul Road = $2,893,034
Trucks:
Randgold also purchased in 2011 14 BAS Volvo 50t tipping Trucks for their Gounkoto Gold mine for US4.2m, much bigger mine so lets say we start with 8 trucks
8 x 50t tipping trucks - US$2,400,000
So all up approx. $5.3M for road and trucks.
Good to know to give us an idea of capital possibly required moving forward.
