Just saying but look what happened the last time BHP attempted a major takeover/merger with Rio back in 07/08. Both share prices took a pounding, albeit the GFC was a factor but I fear that this is a sign that the top is in on the mining cycle now that the big miners are changing their capital allocation strategies to M&A. I fear this will have a negative rather than positive effect on BHPs share price. $100 not a chance before 2040 and a lot of inflation!
