Basically BHP is a bet on commodity price (obviously).
At $70 oil and iron ore last year they made 180c EPS.
At $50 oil and iron ore this year consensus forecast is for 50c EPS.
It's a big leveraged bet on something so complex, experts don't even know what will happen.
