Thanks Guru, I am beginning to think $35 could happen.
In rough terms:
BHPOil value of say $23b in terms of WPL shares given away.
5B BHP shares on issue means $4.60 drop in underlying value to say $42.80
If you think the market could fall another 10% due to interest rates, gives a share price of around $38 to $39.
Less any fall in value due to earnings reduction from disposal of high earning fossil fuel assets, a moderate fall in Iron Ord demand in China and delay in new earnings coming on board, then we could have a $35 share price is possible before the end of 2022.
But I would like to see how Liberum Capital Ltd got there.
My interest is because I sold some months back around these levels and would like an opportunity to buy back in as a long hold.
