If you have the money you could buy back the same number of shares that BHP will buy off you the same day as they advise you of how many they will take..
I find that trying to time purchases like this is very difficult so I just do the above and trust to luck since I am still making a good profit.

I still find it difficult to get people to understand that a super fund in pension paying phase is tremendous tax effective vehicle.
Some of my friends dont believe that the fund pays no tax yet the Taxation Dept will send me (the fund) a very sizable cheque at the end of the financial year.
JB Were expect BHP to be about $65 in 12 months time; a 40% increase in capital value.
