    Good to see some common sense posted about BHP and recent price fluctations.

    I read an article recently that suggested that BHP, RIO and other majors are going to be sitting on such huge piles of cash over the next few years that all debt on their books will be paid off and it is likely that dividends/capital returns/buybacks etc will increase significantly, as will the M&A opportunities in the mining industry generally as the look for buying opportunities to put that cash to work in various ways.

    Right now these stocks are predominantly growth plays. Over the next few years they might also become significant dividend/income/capital return plays.

    Of course, there will be bumps up and down inthis, and times to be in and out of the stock, but that is really the same with any stock or sector.

    Just my opinion
