DPH,
ETrades current market cap for SDL is $315m. Based on this, BHP could have taken over SDL with the $500m they wasted on the RIO merger. I know what I would have done if I was a manager at BHP. Surely many shareholders would accept a 20-25c offer (I wouldn't). As a percentage, this is significant to Fri closing price.
BHP would then have the resources and financial backing to develop the port, rail, mine, etc. These are some of the clouds shadowing SDL.
Or BHP could wait until the stock reaches 40c, $1, $3, etc and pay significantly more?
This is probably all just wishful thinking and no involvement with BHP will eventuate.
Hopefully the DOW, ASX and SDL have a good week ahead, and a new base around 17/18c can develop.
Butchy.
