All vessels using HFO are required to use a scrubber system as of the 1st Jan. The current vessel I work on is purely diesel, but the previous vessel could use either. The scrubber system developed for that was some 150kW load, so while only minimal in the overall load, it was using more fossil fuel in order to reduce emissions.....
