Noone disputes that Oil has an impact on BHP/WPL. You don't need a WPL chart overlay to prove that point. Almost half of its earnings comes from oil. The issue is not day to day movements in the oil price the share prices can move independently on any particular day or period of days as can NCM when gold goes up or down on any series of days.
I am giving a technical opinion based on BHP per se, having provided my parameters in my initial post, predominantly that the momentum indicators on this recent rise and the OBV indicator are not indicatige of a sustained rally. I called it at $15.15, I would stay short with a stop above $15.20, easy as that. I would target $15.70 area and look to go long again. That is it.
