Rail deal on track says Atlas Iron
Western Australian miner Atlas Iron is confident its historic bid to gain access to a BHP Billiton rail line will succeed.
The junior miner wants to use BHP's Goldsworthy line to transport iron ore from its Pardoo mine to Port Hedland.
The two companies have agreed to do a joint feasibility study into how the arrangement might work.
Atlas Iron managing director David Flanagan, says he has faith the mining giant will commit to the project.
"I do believe the BHP guys are entering into all of this in good faith and we'll do so ourselves," he says.
"I think if everyone continues down the process in that matter, that we'll end up with a win-win result at the end of it."
