Breaking news from the west
There are concerns for miners at BHP’s Nickel West operation following a “seismic event” near the Leinster town site.
Geoscience Australia said a magnitude 4.0 earthquake was recorded north east of Leinster at 3.24pm on Wednesday.
BHP said it was working to “re-establish communications” with its team that was underground at the time of the event.
