As I have been thoroughly informed on the BHP threads, BHP is splitting off its petroleum arm to merge with WPL and assigning all the shares to BHP shareholders, thereby adding WPL to the portfolios of BHP holders. Hence, BHP gains nothing from the deal other than to quit its fossil fuel investments. I doubt if WPL will want to takeover PEK.
