You are at least providing a reasoned argument.
But to state that a value of $28.+ is tantamount to ramping. $20. something can be argued.
May I ask what yield will be? 2% or less in a market where some companies are paying above the cash rate. And in a company with the added risk of the volatility associated with the commodity boom. Local value fund managers will be watching with some trepidation and hedge funds will be watching for the first sign of weakness to pounce.
If you do a DCF on the company with consensus forecasts in terms of cash flow the valuation comes closer to $15.+. My value is even less than that in the mid to low $13.
I believe that the current price is fair value for BHP in the current market conditions.
