A friend of mine (in the US) spent US$14,000 on a course which included mentoring at it’s completion. He then borrowed US$100k and set about trading. He even had an idea of setting up his own Hedge Fund (which I talked him out of). He traded for less than 3 months before running out of capitol and has since given up trading as he has a Wife and Family to support.

I remember looking through charts with him (I was working in the US at the time) and he used to say that he would get in here, (pointing to an intermediate bottom) and get out here (pointing to an intermediate top) based on RSI, STO and MACD.
As a dot com survivor, I knew that this was only part of the knowledge required.

Another friend spent US$4000 on an Options course which he later repeated and bet me that he would make $1 million before me. He lost all his capitol before the bear market started.

Yet, there are survivors, and some continue to make money even in this market.

Staying a step ahead is crucial to one’s long term survival in any market IMHO.
