    might want to do some research. It had over $30bn USD debt and iron ore crashed to near its highly elevated at the time production costs. Coupled with the Samarco disaster. Since BHP has reduced operating costs by over half and same with the debt. Different company. Different times.

    i bought a lot sub $20 then (not bottom) and low $20. The huge dividends and WDS issuance (which I sold and worth over $5 a share) paid back my initial capital and more. Added bonus of over 100% gain in capital. 200% plus return and outstripped the ASX benchmark.
