Essentially Australia has shut its door to investment and that's why the hiatus of developing resources here in favour of overseas where greener pastures exist. People my think in terms of risk but what is more risky than a government hell bent on shutting the resource industry down via legislation and green tape.
If Trump is indiscriminate with tariffs and imposes them here then BRIC's may be an alternative to seriously consider once our neighbours stop trading in US dollars!
