RIOs acquisitions into Li have been terrible and haven't made sense imo. Li will forever be used as long as people want to have portable energy though. EV is the future whether people like it or not for whatever reason they are objectively a better car for the majority of the population (not to create a debate on this topic but wanting to point out how much Li will be a forvere thing), then you have BESS which is also the future for data centres and the general population. I just don't think it s a good match for BHP to get a good ROI, stay in the Cu space.
I wouldn't want BHP to get into Li though because of personal reasons. They need to still stick to what they know.
