OPEC can't play the price war game for too long, even the Saudis need the price of oil to be $80-$90 per barrel to balance their budget.

I'm still trying to figure out how BHP is supposedly pulling back production when at the bottom of the article you posted Matt747, it states;

"The firm said more high-cost producers were expected to depart in 2015 as 100-120 million tonnes of new low-cost supplies enter the market"

Where is this phantom 100-120mtpa coming from in 2015 if the majors are pulling back?
