    mrgann,

this is all becoming far more than intended.

roads are designed to accept a forecast ammount of traffic and have an approx 30 year life......so im guessing that mak will require approval to operate 100t loads every 10 minutes and this approval may incur an expense for accelerated damage.

check this quote out and see the linc below it....the quote will put the potential longer term impact of 2.5 million tonnes per annum into perspective,

Based on the Bureau of Transport and Regional Economics (BTRE) data, it is estimated that around 63,000 tonnes of freight were transported in 2006 by all modes for the Brisbane-Darwin origin and destination city pair of which road comprises 45,000 tonnes a year or an estimated 70 per cent of the total transport task compared to coastal shipping 20 per cent and air 10 per cent. The flexibility of road transport and load capacity (up to 90 tonnes for a Type 2 Road Train) to meet just-in-time delivery schedules is a key determinant in the use of road transport.
