Slats, are you referring to BHP? BHP has gotten with the intraday high of its 2007 high, its second-highest high.

And gotten within a couple of bucks off its May 2008 alltime high.

That's despite threatened super tax, carbon tax and everything else. (I did post some charts and figures months back by the way showing the super tax had NO impact on the BHP share price).

If you are referring to the XJO, that's another story.

We have been underperforming the rest of the world long before this week's carbon tax proposal. XJO is not even back at last April's high.

And one answer is, why would you invest in the stock market when banks are returning 6% risk-free on term deposits.
