Would appear to be a lot of scope for getting these offers wrong to the tune of ten$ of billion$…..and the way we’ve lobbed 3 bids in quick succession certainly conveys a level of desperation to Anglo's board - talk about lay your cards on the table.
It's like the young buck who sees an old Merc nicely shined up in the used car yard with ‘make an offer’ across its windscreen. The slippery salesman can see the stars in the kids eyes …..makes up some BS reasons why he can’t flip the hood or start the engine or open the doors ….the kid is so besotted he makes an offer anyway based on kicking the tyres and looking in the windows….. it’s way above market but the kid doesn’t know that….salesman rejects the offer ….the starry eyed kid just wants that car ….he’s lost all sense of rational thought …..keeps making higher offers…..he’ll only realise when it completely sh*ts itself the week after he buys it that he’s been totalled rolled.
Quietly got my fingers crossed that come May 29 we're not the proud new owners of an old overpriced Merc.
