base metals took a decent hit overnight on lme....and this will probably flow through to nye tonight.

"Most of the increases in LME stockpiles took place in the U.S., the second-biggest consumer of the metal. Inventories there rose to 75,600 tons from less than 1,000 tons at the beginning of 2006. The weak U.S. housing market has led to rising stockpiles, said analysts including Neil Buxton at London-based GFMS Metals Consulting Ltd."
