The BHP/WDS merger is both exciting and head-spinningly complex. Perhaps somebody can explain. Woodside is funding its part of the merger by issuing 914.8million new shares worth US$23.4 billion. Does this dilute the value of WDS shares? How much has Woodside earned from possession of the Asset since last August? I hold both stocks through my retiree's self managed super fund so will not be disadvantaged by capital gains. BHP is by far my largest holding but my WDS holding is also substantial. Happy to accept comments as opinions.
