I was thinking the same, iron ore price has improved the last couple of days and copper is only slightly down overnight and oil has hit new 12 monthly highs. I don't buy the copper weakness price excuse as claimed in the article here and I note that RIO (also a copper play) and FMG are both slightly up so I can't explain it. I also note that BHP would be buying since 21 Sept to fulfil it's DRP obligations so that might have been a little supportive of the SP.
