Uranium based nuclear power has always been a by-product of nuclear weapons manufacturing, including depleted uranium ammunition and even if the industry has legitimately focused on energy generation as a way to recover some of the costs, it is another con benefiting a minority of detached elites and sold to everyone as an essential component of base load energy.
Apparently renewable energy sources are unreliable and harder to distribute and will never provide base load stability
It's not about preventing
individuals with batteries to detach from public grids, it's for our own good that we all continue to be forced to purchase energy from government or privatised for profit networks
The strength of BHP is in mining multiple commodities
The Woodside and BHP merger of fossil fuel assets will benefit both parties. LNG will be used for decades even if it becomes blended with hydrogen and petroleum has many industrial applications beyond fuel
Uranium weapons and therefor power might be around for decades or centuries to come - especially if more governments develop their own nuclear weapons programs.
I cant see any government that possesses nuclear weapons ever reducing their arsenal to zero
All bodes well for BHP
