BHP has become more concerned with their ESG credentials than increasing share holders value. They’re planning on leaving the coal sector by years end when coal prices are far higher than iron ore prices. Met coal prices are also at multi decade highs but the myopic management want to leave that too.
BHP has gone from a multi dimensional mining stock to a one dimensional mining stock.
