Mate - you need to get off your high horse about this ‘woke’ business.

The ‘Oxford English Dictionary’ may well define it that way but in current investment circles the term ‘woke’ is being used to mean ESG - nothing whatsoever to did with racism.

And anyway - when it comes to exchanges on a forum like hotcopper where the language is very much ‘of the day’ the Oxford English Dictionary can be a pretty poor reference. I mean a change of definition probably has to go through a dozen committees and take 2 years to approve.

Take the word ‘gay’ which meant happy/jolly for centuries then ‘homosexual’ and then more recently as a synonym for lame/unimpressive - I’m sure it took a few years for the Oxford to pick up on that last one.
