Rio deal is both good and bad. Shows that BHP are keen to sow up the iron ore market and hence a JV deal with YML would appear to be a simple and "cheap" way of aligning to this... but is it a distration from the main game? An announcement of a JV with YML would be great for all! It certainly hasn't been priced in yet.
