Interestingly BHP also said the below in a separate article today about their shale oil assets in the USA. If other shale oil producers over there need similar prices to increase production then the oil price could be destined to sit in an $40-60 window for quite a while.
“When the price gets up to $US40, probably we will put some fracks back in and we will start to produce more out of the Black Hawk, and when we get to $US50, the Permian comes into money,” he said.
