This topic comes up quite often on the forum, so I thought it best to put everything in one place to help keep things on track—though, as we all know, thread topics here tend to drift quickly.
That said, I’d like to share
my perspective as a man of faith—a man who trusts in God and stands firmly on the Bible as the foundation of my beliefs. I take what is written in Scripture seriously, and I aim to walk in that truth.
What I’m about to present is
what I see clearly in the Word, backed by some of the
obvious evidence we can observe in the world today.
The Difference Between the Faithful and the DeceivedThere’s a clear difference between those who
believe and live by what is written in Scripture and those who
twist, reject, or reinterpret it to suit their own ways.
Without embracing God, they will never see or understand His truth.
“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” —
1 Corinthians 2:14, NKJVThe Worldwide Flood: Backed by Scripture and the Earth ItselfThe
evidence for the worldwide flood is overwhelming—both in the Word of God and in the natural world around us. The Bible is very clear that this was not a regional event. It covered
all the earth, and believing otherwise is a rejection of what is plainly written.
“Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.” —
Genesis 7:17–19, NKJV“And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.” —
Genesis 7:21, NKJVFaith in God vs. Faith in ManMany today—sadly, even within churches—place more faith in
science and human reasoning than in the unchanging Word of God. Some denominations, including the
Catholic Church, promote
evolution as the method of creation, completely ignoring the biblical record of Genesis.
“Thus says the Lord: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord.’” —
Jeremiah 17:5, NKJVWe are told not to lean on man’s understanding, but to trust in the Lord with all our heart (Proverbs 3:5–6).
Evolution, millions of years, and the denial of a worldwide flood are all rooted in human reasoning—not Scripture.Prophecy Confirms the WordOver
300 prophecies foretold the coming of the Messiah, fulfilled in Yeshua (Jesus), and countless other prophecies continue to unfold today. These confirm that the Bible is
not mythology—it is divine truth.
Unbelievers Cannot Grasp Spiritual TruthDebating unbelievers often goes nowhere. Most have already hardened their hearts and simply parrot what they’ve learned from secular systems. Without the Spirit of God,
spiritual truth remains hidden.
“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.” —
Romans 8:7, NKJVMany will mock the idea of a worldwide flood because they’ve been taught a
worldview that rejects God’s authority.
The Earth Still Shows the Marks of the FloodLook at the land itself:
- The Grand Canyon, cliff faces, and gorges around the world carved rapidly by massive volumes of water—not slow erosion over millions of years.
- Australia’s Glass House Mountains and Mount Pomona bear marks of having been submerged and shaped by catastrophic floodwaters.
Even modern science admits that
if all the ice melted, the land would be underwater. So why would it be hard to believe that
God once covered the earth in water, then
receded it by His power?
“You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the mountains. At Your rebuke they fled; At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away. They went up over the mountains; They went down into the valleys, To the place which You founded for them. You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, That they may not return to cover the earth.” —
Psalm 104:6–9, NKJVAnd He made a covenant with a
rainbow as the sign of His promise:
“I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.” —
Genesis 9:13, NKJVWhen Did the Flood Happen?Based on the genealogies of Genesis 5 and 11, the worldwide flood took place approximately
2348 BC, about
4,400 years ago. That’s when Noah and his family—
just 8 people—stepped off the ark and repopulated the earth.
“...In which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.” —
1 Peter 3:20, NKJVHow Could 8 People Multiply to 8 Billion? Here's the MathLet’s look at real population math using modest, historically consistent growth rates between
0.4% and 1.0% annually over 4,400 years:
| Year Since Flood | Population (0.4% Growth) | Population (1.0% Growth) |
---|
1 | | 8 | 8 |
---|
2 | 200 | 17 | 59 |
---|
3 | 400 | 39 | 436 |
---|
4 | 600 | 88 | 3,227 |
---|
5 | 800 | 196 | 23,847 |
---|
6 | 1000 | 437 | 176,123 |
---|
7 | 2000 | 23,846 | 3.87 million |
---|
8 | 3000 | 1.3 million | 85.1 million |
---|
9 | 4000 | 72.6 million | 1.87 billion |
---|
10 | 4400 | ~163 million | 8.5 billion |
---|
Even using the
lower-end growth rate, we reach a plausible population size when factoring in historical resets (plagues, wars, etc.). But the
1.0% growth rate—well within known human growth ranges—
perfectly explains today’s 8+ billion.
“Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.” —
Genesis 9:1, NKJVWhy Did God Send the Flood?Because mankind had fallen into
utter wickedness.
“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” —
Genesis 6:5, NKJV“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.” —
Genesis 6:11, NKJVYeshua even warned us that the last days would resemble those days:
“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” —
Matthew 24:37, NKJVLook around:
sexual perversion, greed, narcissism, lies, corruption—even in governments and churches. It’s undeniable that the world is
once again full of evil and rebellion against God.
Believe or Reject—Your ChoiceYou can believe in the
worldwide flood or reject it. That is your right. But if you
claim to believe the Bible, you cannot honestly say it was just a local event. The Word is too clear.
“And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.” —
Genesis 7:19, NKJVHistorical Testimonies Around the WorldThere are
over 200 flood legends across the globe:
- The Epic of Gilgamesh (Babylon)
- Chinese flood legends
- Native American tribes
- Aboriginal Australians
- Mesoamerican (Mayan) stories
Though their details vary, the core memory is the same: a great flood, divine judgment, and a small group of survivors in a large boat. Coincidence? Or the
echo of a real, biblical event remembered across civilizations?
Final WordIf more people sincerely searched for truth instead of trying to prove others wrong, they might discover that the
evidence is everywhere. But pride gets in the way. If you want to prove someone wrong, first be willing to prove yourself wrong.
Truth withstands scrutiny.
“Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.” —
Psalm 119:89, NKJV
