Are you just trying to make an appeal to complexity?
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler. If anyone is oversimplifying this then please demonstrate where and how. If you can't do this then there is no reason why people shouldn't just look at the available evidence and make a rational assessment.... Which is what many people on this thread have done.
