That's the ASX (and chi-x) exchanges for you - just the way things are set up, and applies to all stocks.
It does mean that 10c forms a natural barrier; once through that level the percentage increase per price tick goes up dramatically. Hopefully VRC will be back on the right side of 10c very shortly !
