Could see a drop next week if Exxon sits on its hands
From the ABC
Important talks are being held in the United States this weekend over the future of the Papua New Guinea to Australia gas pipeline.
PNG's Energy Minister is flying to Texas for talks with project operator Exxon Mobil.
Exxon Mobil is the operator and marketer for the multi-million dollar project that would take gas from PNG's Southern Highlands to Queensland.
With partner company Oil Search keen to move to engineering and design stage, there is pressure on Exxon Mobil to commit to the project.
PNG's Energy Minister Sir Moi Avei wants answers.
"It's the right time now for Exxon Mobil to tell Papua New Guinea where it stands," he said.
Sir Moi has previously questioned the company's commitment to the project, as it already controls significant gas reserves in Australia
