Daed fish from Danube needs to be processed. Romania to benefit of the first funds of SAPARD program

BUCHAREST (MEDIAFAX) - European Commissioner for agriculture Franz Fischler signed the decision by which the European Commission transferred to Romania the management of funds allocated through the SAPARD program, according to a release of the Delegation of the European Commission in Bucharest issued on Wednesday.
The decision will come in effect in a few days, after approval by the secretary general of the European Commission, says the release.
Romania will have access to funds worth Euro 153,2 million afferent to the program for year 2000, Euro 156,3 million for year 2001 and Euro 157,8 million for 2002-2006 period. The future payment advance, at most 49% of the amount allocated for year 2000, may be implemented as soon as possible, says the release.
First, the funds will be allocated for the programs referring to the 'Improvement of agricultural and fishing products marketing and processing' and to 'Development and improvement of rural infrastructure'.
