In the spoiler is a more in depth report on the Brookfield acquisition of Neoen from The Australian.
I higlighted the bits about Brookfield wanting to develop expertise in battery storage technology and a general overview of what the Australian Energy Operator’s expectations are in the near future.

    AND WHY IS THIS RELEVANT?

    — We’ve seen some strong moves in support of VFBs this year with Rongke power (largest vanadium battery company in China) and Japan’s Sumitomo teaming up with the Queensland vanadium sector, Invinity yet to unveil it’s new Mistral VFB (which is already booked by the US DOE and a Korean manufactrer, Largo and Stryten power teaming up in the USA and plenty of developments in streamlining VGBs and refucing their cost and weight ….
Plus the benefits of VFBs in terms of longevity, recyclable potential and non-flammability are becoming more widely known.
Resource Capital Funds - a world renowned ‘long view’ investor with strong connections to Rothschild bank, Mineral Respurces and (given the lead shown in the PLS/RCF/Aus Super takeover of Altura Minerals) Australian Super.

Big Australian fund Aware Super has already taken a stake in the barely fledged VFB and pumped hydro-focussed North Harbour Clean Energy in the Eastern states and more.

AVL is essentially ready to go barring certain (important) technicalities - we have high profile directors comfortable with high level operations such as Woodside and Pilbara Minerals etc (also including Jo Gaines -previously an advisor to one of the most popular premiers in Australia)

Regal funds and Tribeca have both indicated they will invest further ‘when the time is right’.

    etc etc etc
AVL is being set up as a world quality, long term player in a storage battery sector that’s widely expected -includimg by the Australian government) to outstrip lithium.

Given all the above (including the etceteras) I think it would be foolish to think there are not some very large interests taking a long look at AVL.

    Interesting times?

    cheers
