Big Batteries, page-2

Just tacking on to the battery thread

H2 Inc in South Korea are the only company I've found that have committed to building a VRB facility at GWh scale. Compared to 240+ lithium based giga factories (Google). More would be very helpful to de-risk projects and gain a foothold into big grid storage. AVL have previously suggested multiple electrolyte plants, assumingly due to the cost of transportation. May need to upscale significantly once familiar with the setup in order to take advantage of economies of scale and to be able to tender for much larger than the 50MW they're currently limiting themselves to.

Also worth perusing is this Reddit post about concerning cost comparisons between the technologies. The source is in the comments, and its important to remember that the graph is logarithmic, not linear. Suggests a strong future for VRBs, provided the industry can be developed against the incumbents.
