Improvement will only come through increased occupancy. The figures comparison last week showed no improvement in complete occupied days. At this time of year, very little changes with occupancy.
IMO past years with G8's BFF's we saw a centre purchase plan that obscured occupancy growth, but now with fewer acquisitions occurring, the occupancy levels appear more accurate. IMO we will still see acquisitions occurring late in the year, the income from those acquisitions replaces the reduced income from low occupancy during the first half of the year and some will be happy with that.
There is plenty of opportunity for improvement and plenty of areas that require improvement. The blanket approach is no longer effective. Every centre is different, the families are different, the children are different, the staff are different and the communities they are in are different. Stop throwing a blanket over them all, give them the identities and individualism they deserve and recognise and create communities within a corporation.
