    Magnetite is used as a feed stock for blast furnaces...
    ...when used furnaces can run cooler (less energy input)...
    ...and require less downtime for descaling...
    ...it is also natural magnet that is desirable in production of some steel products.

    The reserves of Magnetite world-wide are less than Hemetite.
