Biotron used Gilead's drug because it is a single combination, approved in Thailand, and it is well and truly the best HIV ART drug combo.
Gilead sponsor nearly every big conference. They spend more on advertising than they do on research.
Gilead are trialling their own drugs against HIV, and are in the middle of large human trial. If successful, they won't require anyone else's drug. So far, they have already cured SIV in macaques. They are well ahead of the field, as usual.
