re: optus signs with gilat. buys 2,500 vsat units 3 possibilities:
1)
increased competition (making the sector more competitive, hence challenging - may be good or bad for MUL);
2)
increased attention (increased focus making the selling campaign easier to digest - could be a benefit to MUL);
3)
increased distraction (particularly if Optus and Telstra square off against each other in the non-urban /urban fringe sector, or beyond - could be a bonus for MUL).
So, some good, some bad. But increased attention means increased marketing possibilities. Question is whether MUL can capitalise on this (bearing in mind the ipStar arguments of late 2003).
