Deepwater Africas sedimentary basins potential for oil-plays has been known for well over a decade and its only in a relativly small numbers of years that it has started to come into focus; reducing costs and improving technology making it all possible and majors are very interested; Petrobas (Brazils major) announced large ( I think it was multi-billion dollar farmins) into Gulf-mexico, Gabon and elsewhere in Africa and at least one of these was in conjunction with WPL; Don't for a moment think that the majors aren't looking at whats going on in Africa. Any serious players wanting a cheap entry into the action would certainly be looking at HDR since for a relativly small oiler the HDR Africa interests are huge... Mauritania, French-Guyane, Gabon.... not to mention Uganda which for the purposes of the point being made may be ignored.. Yes as you can tell I am very positive on HDR lets hope that management continue delivering.
